1. Bill Gray's 🥇
Bill Gray started selling hot dogs from a roadside stand in Webster in 1938 and now his namesake restaurant has 16 locations in Western NY. Bill Gray’s also had enough combined appearances in the Best Of Rochester and Community Choice awards to make it the #1 Burger Place in Rochester!
2. Good Luck 🥈
Good Luck got its start in the Neighborhood Of The Arts back in 2008 and it didn’t take long for them to become one of the most recommended and beloved burgers in Rochester. The Good Luck Burger consists of a pound of grass-fed local ground beef on a brioche bun with chuba cheddar, vegetable slaw, and fries, and it should be at the top of your Rochester Burger Bucket List.
3. The Gate House 🥉
The Gate House’s gourmet burgers are made from never-frozen angus ground chuck, local ingredients, and artisan rolls and are named after some of the most notable people to walk the streets of Rochester. According to their website they “strive to bring guests the tastes of our region, infused with world flavors, and prepared and presented in a healthy and beautiful way” and we’re here to report that they’re nailing it!

If you have burger in your name… yours better be good right? And luckily Swillburger’s is great! Their restaurant is a modern take on the classic American burger joint serving up beef from local farms and buns from a local bakery. Check them out on the corner of South Clinton and Meigs Street and work off some of the calories playing vintage arcade games in The Playhouse.
